Property Surveyor

**About The Role**:

At Fareham Borough Council we are serious about investing in our Housing Property team and this is one of two brand new posts that we are recruiting to. We are always looking to develop our employees and as a consequence we also have a further existing post that we are looking to fill following a recent promotion.

As the Property Surveyor (Housing Projects) you will be involved in taking forward the delivery of individual project based work that contributes to the planned maintenance and improvements to Council housing stock. Reporting to the Property Project Manager you will help to deliver, and have the opportunity, to manage projects that adapt, extend or improve Council property.

The role is career graded enabling the right person to have the opportunity to grow and develop their skills and experience towards becoming a more experienced surveyor.

As you will be working from either the Civic Offices or Council Depot you will benefit from working within a relatively small geographical area with the opportunity to get involved in many different and exciting projects.

**About You**:
We are looking for somebody who already sees this as the profession for them and so, at the entry level point, we would expect the right applicant to either be qualified to BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (or equivalent) or at least already working towards it.

Although not vital at this stage, it would be preferable if you had some knowledge of building trades, contract management and health and safety. Above all we are looking for somebody who is customer focussed with excellent written and verbal skills and a real sense of pride to do a good job.
