We have an exciting opportunity for a Dog Control and Animal Health Officer to join our Public Protection Service in the Consumer Protection Team
Our Public Protection Service sits within our large unitary authority, bringing together food and health and safety, trading standards, animal health, environmental protection, licensing, ASB and pest control. As a Dog Control and Animal Health Officer you will lead on providing an effective dog control service for the County as well as the establishment and enforcement of provisions related to animal health issues including Public Space Protection Orders, and animal licensing functions. Other responsibilities will include undertaking timely, effective investigations and solution focused problem solving in relation to enforcement, responsible ownership and the welfare of dogs. This role does require some working outside of core hours when necessary for specific duties including stray dog collection, which is covered across the team on a rota basis.
