**Client Details**

A firm of Chichester solicitors are looking to recruit a maternity cover Leagl Cashier on a fixed term contract basis.

**Description**

As Legal Cashier you will be responsible for:

- Assisting the smooth running of the accounts department in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Liaising with fee-earners to ensure that files are being billed appropriately for the department, closed promptly on matter completion. Dealing with any small balances on a matter
- Credit control & purchase ledger
- Ensuring that all bank reconciliations are all up-to-date
- Ensuring property completion statements are agreed
- Knowledge of day-to-day banking and cheques being drawn
- Check the accuracy of all bills and authorise accordingly
- Agree costs and VAT
- Provide fee-earners with a quarterly report on file inactivity
- All Solicitor Reserve interest calculation quarterly or when requested.
- Reconciliation of legal aid bills
- Completions via bank as directed by accounts managers
- Petty cash reconciliation
