Cosmetics and Skincare Manufacturer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative cosmetics or skincare manufacturer to join our established and friendly team at our head office in Perth. You will need to have prior experience in the manufacture, production and creation of cosmetics, creams, balms or lotions.

Voyager was established in 2020 as a health & wellness business with a focus on CBD, hemp and sustainability. The company has quickly grown with three stores in Scotland, an extraction facility in Poland, a distribution network spanning the UK and Europe and our own in-house manufacturing. As well as creating products for our two brands, we also provide white label and private label services for others.

As our business has grown, we have expanded our premises in Perth to create a larger manufacturing capability. This is in response to higher volumes of our own sales but more particularly due to increasing demand from other businesses for outsourced manufacturing. A core part of this role is to work with our customers to perfect their formulas, making small batches of samples for their approval before commencing larger manufacturing runs of the finished product.

We manufacture a range of products, including moisturisers, lip balms, bath products and body oils. You will be involved in the making of all of these plus many others. You will also be involved in filling, labelling and packing of the products.

Main duties and responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to complete manufacturing bulk tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets, whilst being compliant to safety requirements and our own high standards.
- Participation in planning new and amended formulations of skincare products
- Taking the lead on manufacturing certain product lines
- Setting up and operating machinery to manufacture cosmetic bulk products
- Adhering to and ensuring the team follow Standard Operating Procedures and GMP
- Controlling flow of products and materials
- Ensuring the department is cleaned and sanitised suitably and sufficiently.
- Adhering to all safe working practices
- Ensuring correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn
- Completing batch documentation per instructions and quality standards
- Work alongside other Voyager team members on business development
- Deal directly with customers to understand and advise on their production requirements

Person Specification
- Prior experience of making skincare or cosmetic products is essential, whether hand blending small batches or larger bulk manufacturing
- Experience of registering products on the UK and European portals as well as commissioning CPSRs would also be beneficial
- Experience following a recipe or formula to create a quality end-product
- You will need to understand the key concepts of Good Manufacturing Practice or be willing to learn and implement these
- Confidence in working alone and willing to oversee the main aspects of manufacturing when required
- Strong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
