Core Responsibilities
Communication and Relationship Responsibilities
Assist in liaising across multi-disciplinary groups in relation to community and first response initiatives.
Maintain and contribute to the operational profile of the service.
Meet with volunteers and schemes to support them with equipment, communication, governance requirements and welfare issues.
Develop working relationships with colleagues within own organisation and other organisations that are productive in terms of supporting and delivering your work and that of the overall organisation.
To ensure that planned organisation changes are communicated positively to appropriate people e.g. staff, patients and carers.
Analytical and Judgemental Responsibilities
Assist in the evaluation and review of resuscitation, first aid and emergency training.
Monitor the progress and quality of the work of individuals and/or teams to ensure that the required standards of performance are met.
Review and update working practices in the light of developments.
Planning and Organisational Responsibilities
Plan, develop and manage community resuscitation initiatives that support delivery of Yorkshire Ambulance community resuscitation strategy targets in schools and communities according to local need.
Policy and Service Development Responsibilities
Assist in the development of further training opportunities
Assisting the Community Resilience Team in the construction of new training packages in support of the development of the departments’ objectives, e.g. construction of course syllabus, lesson plans assessment process etc
Assist in supporting the development and growth of the Yorkshire response network.
Maintain professional qualifications.
To consult with key stakeholders (managers, staff etc) in order to develop ways that the service could be improved.
Financial, Physical and Information Resource Responsibilities
Maintaining equipment in a clean hygienic and serviceable condition with necessary liaison and support from other departments e.g. IT.
Assist with the transport, cleaning and maintenance of training equipment.
Support the department in delivering its key objectives, ensuring all documentation is maintained within Trust guidelines.
Ensure that regular reports are provided on training delivered and the achievement of the learning outcomes.
Ensure that accurate records are kept on the training of attendees.
Assist with administrative tasks regarding issuing of certificates of attendance and maintenance of information required by the department.
Research and Audit Responsibilities
The post holder will keep up to date with advances in techniques and protocols issued by authorities such as NICE, Resuscitation Council (UK), HSE and First Aid organisations.
Leadership, Management, Training and Supervision Responsibilities
Assisting in the development, provision and co-ordination of appropriate and effective resuscitation and emergency care skills training for a diverse cross section of the public.
Work flexibly to enhance training capabilities and deliver training in a variety of formal and informal settings.
The post holder will be required to attend such training/development courses deemed necessary following discussion with the Community Resilience Management Team.
Corporate Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of each member of staff to ensure that they maintain the confidentiality and security of all information in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the principles of Caldicott.
Managers should also ensure that their staff are aware of their obligations under legislation such as the Freedom of Information Act 2000; Computer Misuse Act 1990, and that staff are updated with any changes or additions relevant to legislation.
