**Job overview**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the thriving department of Clinical Neuropsychology at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences.

We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist who has a strong interest in pursuing a career in neuropsychology and has the appropriate experience to work autonomously in an outpatient service for patients with a very wide range of neurological conditions. The Psychologist will be experienced in providing comprehensive neuropsychology assessments and will be skilled in providing interventions using multiple models including cognitive behavioural therapy and cognitive rehabilitation.

**Main duties of the job**:
This is a development post that is intended to enable a Psychologist to gain the skills and qualifications necessary to work as an effective and confident Clinical Neuropsychologist in the future.

You will join one of the largest Neuropsychology teams in the country. We are a group of highly committed and supportive clinicians who work across inpatient, outpatient and community settings supported by an excellent administrative and managerial team.

The person will benefit from the supervision structure and peer support of the department and the additional CPD opportunities afforded here.

For this specific post, we are looking for a proactive and creative individual who has a keen interest in research of clinical outcome and developing services. This is a new post that has been developed to help better manage outpatient waiting times and a key aspect of the post is looking at ways of improving timely access for the people referred to our service. For this purpose, time is ringfenced for research and service development.

- HCPC registered

**Desirable criteria**:

- PGDip Neuropsychology
- Additional academic qualification (e.g. diploma, research MSc, PhD)

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- 1 year Previous experience of work in a neuropsychology service
- Neuropsychological assessments
- Cognitive interventions
- Mental capacity assessments
- Adapting communication
- MDT working

**Desirable criteria**:

- Previous experience of patients undergoing rehabilitation and exhibiting challenging behaviour in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
- Previous experience of providing clinical supervision for Assistant Psychologists.
- Prior experience of service development.
- Prior experience of research activity in neuroscience population.
