**Job Summary**
We are looking to recruit a qualified and/or experienced dog and puppy trainer to join the team at a small, but busy training and behaviour company.
Initially you will run our 'life skills' classes for older puppies and dogs with the potential in future to run puppy classes and workshops. The classes are predominantly held on an evening and weekend in and around Harrogate and Knaresborough. It is envisioned that you will cover 2 classes initially with potential to increase over time. The class will require approx 1.5 hours (45 min class plus set up and clean up) - each class is paid at a rate of £60.
This is a 'turn up and teach' opportunity - all admin / booking / client recruitment etc will be done for you.
**Duties**
- Lead small group classes aimed at helping owners teach their dogs the life skills that they require.
- Running workshops for specific behaviours such as loose lead walking or recall.
- Potential to work 1-2-1 with clients and their dogs.
**Requirements**:
- You will ideally be a qualified, registered trainer with a recognised training provider / governing body such as ABTC, IMDT, PACT etc.
- An experienced trainer with evidence of ongoing CPD will also be considered.
- First aid trained (course within the last 3 years).
- Reliable and enthusiatic.
- Commited to science based, positive reinforcement training.
- This is a self employed vacancy - as such you must hold public and professional liability insurance.
The interview process will include teaching a small group class (of volunteers from current clients), and also a 1-2-1 training session with a single owner and dog.
There is the potential to undertake behavioural work if you are suitably qualified / experienced.
