Are you passionate about preparing delicious, home-cooked meals? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at The Oaks Care Home, part of the Sandstone Care Group. Located in Newtown, Powys, our modern, purpose-built care home offers a warm and supportive environment where providing exceptional dining experiences is at the heart of what we do.
Opened in January 2020, The Oaks is a 73-bed home with top-class facilities, including a coffee shop, dining areas, and landscaped gardens. We take pride in serving fresh, nutritious meals that make a real difference in our residents' daily lives, and we are looking for someone with a passion for food to help us continue this tradition.
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in our kitchen team, helping to ensure our residents receive fresh, home-cooked meals made from scratch. Your duties will include:
Assisting the Chef and catering team in meal preparation.
Ensuring hygiene and compliance standards are upheld in the kitchen.
Undertaking any necessary training to enhance your skills.

What are we looking for?
Experience as a catering or kitchen assistant (1 year preferred, but not essential).
A Food Hygiene Certificate (ideal, but not required - training will be provided).
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
