bio-bean is the world’s expert in recycling spent coffee grounds. Based in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire, we take spent coffee grounds from businesses across the UK, recycling thousands of tonnes annually into sustainable bio-products.

Our business is expanding as demand for our products grows. We are therefore looking to recruit an additional machine operator to join our shift teams to allow us to meet demand.

Working at bio-bean offers the opportunity to be part of a company that is seeking to make a positive environmental impact. As a a factory operator you will be at the heart of the business, realising this environmental impact in the production of our unique Coffee Logs and Inficaf products.

If successful, you will be working as a member of a small shift team of 6 people, running our coffee ground processing and Coffee Logs and Inficaf production lines. It is a job where different challenges are met every day, so should in particular appeal to someone who likes a challenge, enjoys teamwork and problem solving and wants to be part of continuously improving production methods.

**Responsibilities**
- Setting up and running of machinery in accordance with required parameters specified in SOPs.
- Control and adjustment of machine settings to maintain quality and performance, most specifically the dryer, briquetters and packing machine.
- Ensuring processes are supplied with materials and consumables as required.
- Inspect machine parts with precision and measuring tools.
- Test the operation of machines periodically by following TPM programme.
- Resolve machine issues within the operator’s capability and safe working that might occur during the shift
- Ensure appropriate quality of output through inspection and delivery of QC processes.
- Manage the safe shut down of the machinery in accordance with SOPs.
- Operate a counterbalance fork truck and telehandler for moving feedstock and finished product (experience preferred, but training can be given).

**Your skills and experience**
- Counterbalance fork truck (desirable, we will provide training and testing if you do not hold a valid license).
- Telehandler (13m reach) (desirable, we will provide training and testing if you do not hold a valid license).
- Full driving licence (site is remote, so transport is required).
- Experience in manufacturing operation and especially as a machine operator.
- Good understanding of best practice production procedures.
- Ability to be flexible and respond to changing demands and conditions - while operating within SOPs.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues at all levels.
- A team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.
- Attention to detail.
- Must have a proficient level of safety knowledge and respect for safety precautions (e.g. constant use of protective gear).
- A High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree or vocational qualifications is a plus.

**Salary**: £25,875.00-£30,000.00 per year

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Huntingdon PE28 4WX: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
