**Site Leads - John Clare Cottage (Two Positions, Flexible Part-Time Roles for Summer Months)**
£14/hour, 26 weeks per year
**The Role**
We are seeking two Site Leads to oversee the day-to-day management of Clare Cottage, the historic home of poet and early environmentalist John Clare. You will serve as the lead presence on-site, actively engaging with volunteers and visitors to ensure a positive and informative experience, fostering the site as a hub for heritage, education, and artistic endeavours. This includes overseeing the museum, gardens, and café, ensuring each area offers an inviting atmosphere for visitors. As a Site Lead, you will work an average of two to three afternoons per week, with additional hours dedicated to supporting school visits, workshops and events. Weekend working will be necessary, averaging one Saturday in every three.
By ensuring the site operates smoothly, the Site Leads will help bring John Clare and his legacy to life, fostering a shared and enduring connection to nature.
**Who We’re Looking For**
- Skilled in interpersonal relations, capable of cultivating a warm and inviting environment for all visitors while motivating and supporting volunteers to excel.
- Enthusiastic about John Clare and his contributions, with a keen interest in one or more of the following areas: environmentalism, poetry, the broader arts, and mental health and well-being.
- Proactive and dependable, adept at overseeing the routine operational aspects of the site to ensure its efficient functioning.
