**Job Title: Head of Care** **Hours of work: 40 hours per week** **Salary: £12 per hour** **Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham** **The client**: On behalf of an established, Birmingham based provider of elderly care and support, I am seeking a Head of Care to join their 20 plus bedded residential service. Your new service provides person centred care and support for older adults, including adults withdementia. Due to an internal restructure, this is a new and exciting role for the organisation, that combines both administrative and care responsibilities to maximise the quality of life for the people who reside here **The Job**: You will join an established team and work closely with the registered and deputy manager. You will lead on both care and support, and back-office responsibilities, maintaining a service which has excellent quality and compliance practices and is recognisedas good by CQC. THIS IS THE IDEAL ROLE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS SEEKING THEIR FIRST STEP INTO A HIGHER-LEVEL POST THAT OFFERS SOME MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES. **Key Responsibilities and duties will include**: " Task delegation " Shift leading " Supervisions and mentoring, as well as recruitment, development support and training " Personal care and support " Administering medication " Liaising with external agencies and visitors to the home " Rota management " Updating and working within care and support plans " Infection control and quality and compliance " Client observations " Safeguarding management **Skills & Experience requirements**: " Demonstrate proven experience as a senior or team leader within an elderly care setting " Be qualified to level 3 in health and social care (and ideally be working towards the level 5 qualification) " Be able to evidence the management and administration of medication " Have flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including alternate weekends " Be a professional and empathetic individual who is willing to go the extra mile for the people they support " Excellent communication skills and an understanding of dementia care **Benefits**: " Competitive hourly rate of £12.00 " On site parking " Pay reviews " Continued training and development " Generous annual leave allowance " Internal progression opportunities across the group
