Due to continued growth, our client is looking to employ a personable and motivated **Senior Design Engineer.**Expected to take technical responsibility for the compliant delivery of all assigned projects, working with all linked disciplines to ensure a solution is delivered; in addition to:

- Undertake work on a variety of projects completing design concepts, 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
- Provide guidance to junior design engineers.
- Actively participate in design reviews with customers and internally with project teams.
- Check other design engineers' technical drawings as part of the drawing production process.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to gain information to allow the design to proceed through to completion.
- Communicate with other members of the project team providing input in the overall production of design packages.
- Undertake vehicle surveys on-site to gain the information required to start the design process.

To be successful in the role of **Senior Design Engineer**, we would like to speak to anyone who has experience in the following:

- A working knowledge of UK rolling stock and UK rail industry engineering design led projects.
- Knowledge of key customers and the interaction between Train Operating Companies and Rolling Stock Leasing.
- Creation of 3D CAD models from first principles.
- How to lead design led projects from concept to reality.
- Understanding and knowledge of the UK Rail Industry and its associated standards and regulations.
- Experience of 3D CAD model production, ideally in Siemens Solid Edge software, as well as detail drawing production.
- A proven track record of leading small teams in the production of on train design solutions.
- Experience of ensuring modelling and drafting rules are complied with by all team members.
- IT literate with sound knowledge of Windows (10 or 11) based 3D CAD systems - ideally Siemens Solid Edge.
- Fluent in at least one 3D CAD system - ideally Siemens Solid Edge.
