As an Assistant Accountant working in our Nottingham office, you will be assisting the Directors and Senior Managers in the management and delivery of accounts preparation services for our owner managed business client portfolio with the below key tasks being carried out.
**Duties include**:
- Produce straightforward draft financial statements in statutory format using the firm's accounting software;
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Complete disclosure checklists for companies preparing accounts under UK GAAP;
- Complete company statutory books;
- Identify basic tax adjustments arising from accounts production and audit work;
- Prepare simple corporation tax returns using the firm's taxation software;
- Ad hoc administrative duties as needed by the Manager
- Liaising with clients on behalf of Directors & Senior Managers.
**Ideal experience**:
- Assisting in financial reporting
- Experience with using Iris, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks is preferred but not essential.
- Prior knowledge of producing self-assessment tax returns would be an advantage.
- Ideally someone with experience maintaining accounting records
- Experience of incorporating checks to ensure accuracy, standing back from the detail ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard
- Having to juggle a number of priorities whilst ensuring deadlines are met
- Communicating with all levels within an organisation
- Managing your own workload
- Creative thinking and having to consider the 'bigger picture'

**Qualifications**:
You will be ACA/ ACCA nearly or fully qualified
