Hgv Technician

Platform Resourcing are working with an established and rapidly expanding engineering company to find an **HGV Technician**, to join their team in **Cwmbran, South Wales.**

- Salary of £15- £18p/h
- Days Only - Hours Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm
- Overtime available
- Workshop based
- 20 days holidays plus 8 stats

**The role**:

- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Fault finding and diagnosis
- Repair of vehicles aiming for maximum reliability
- Modification of vehicles
- MOT's and breakdown maintenance
- Carrying out repairs, services and reactive maintenance
- Updating internal documents, logging works performed
- Performing FMEA and Risk Analysis
- Adhering to compliance guidelines

**Essential Skills/ knowledge**:

- Experience of working on HGV's with a mechanical bias
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3/ City and Guilds Level 3/ HNC/ HND level in Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Able to perform fault finding, diagnosis and repair
- MOT and Servicing experience
- Basic knowledge of Mechanical Maintenance e.g. pneumatics and hydraulics
- Good understanding of general engineering practices
- Ability to accurately follow defined procedures
- Understanding of the principles of standards compliance
- Full UK drivers licence

**Desirable Skills/knowledge**
- Experience of working with diesel powered, heavy goods vehicles
