**Employment Adviser**

The role will be to work alongside our complex needs services in Croydon and Lambeth supporting people with or who are recovering from health challenges; experiencing barriers affecting their ability to move towards or stay in paid employment. You will work in a hybrid manner combing a combination of home working based from our Croydon/ Lambeth office and community working. Along side managing a caseload of clients you will e a point of contact for our client mental health wellbeing football team who you will engage with and provide employment advice and guidance to.

Status Employment are looking for:
**Full time Employment Adviser: £28,000**

The Role is planned to commence in January 2025, working 35 hours per week over 5 days to join our established team(s).

**Purpose**:
Each Employment Consultant will take a primary role in the employment process. Each will have their own caseload and be responsible for following Status Employment’s processes, which include:

- Promoting Status Employment to our key partners, stakeholders and directly to potential clients to generate appropriate referrals
- Conducting Job Analysis and individualised in-work Support Strategy
- Providing appropriate training and support for both employer and or clients
- Engage with employers and the business community to promote inclusive recruitment and make positive introductions on behalf of our clients.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records to evidence our support.

Status Employment may undertake special projects. You may be asked to assist with the development of such initiatives as required by the Senior Employment Consultant.

Undertake any reasonable duties as requested by the Chief Executive / Management Team

To work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required to meet the needs of the clients/service.

You will:

- Work with the Clinicians and other health professionals to support Clients to achieve their employment goal.
- Support Clients to devise a strategy to help them move forward with their employment goals.
- Deliver Job Seeking, CV and Interview Workshops
- Develop an effective knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant employment legislation.
- Have good IT skills - we use a database to capture data at every point of contact - and have knowledge of online platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications and training**
- Educated to A level or equivalent experience
- Trained in supported approach (or equivalent)
- Level 3 Diploma in Employability Services Sector Qualification
- QCF in Advice & Guidance (Level 3)

**Experience**
- Experience/understanding of working with people with mental health support needs, or a similar client group within health, social services or the voluntary sector.
- Experience of working with someone on a one-to-one basis
- Experience of facilitating group work activities
- Experience of managing multiple tasks at any one time
- Experience of working assertively to influence decision makers
- Experience of supporting people to obtain or keep work.
- Experience of working within mental health services
- Own personal lived experience of recovery from mental health difficulties
- Previous experience of working within a supported employment service
- Proven experience of meeting and exceeding outcomes and targets

**Knowledge**
- An understanding of the employment needs, and challenges faced by people who experience mental health difficulties.
- Developing a knowledge of a broad range of occupations and jobs
- Able to use IT and tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Knowledge of the benefits agency and disability/ employment related benefits
- Knowledge of the equality act and how these impacts on supporting people with disabilities in to work
