Midweight Product Designer

**THE OPPORTUNITY**
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Creative team as a Midweight Accessory Designer, championing the Katie Loxton brand.
You will be driving the brand forward, increasing our positioning in the market as an affordable luxury brand. You will build on new personalisation offerings with innovation at forefront, sharing ideas with senior designers to ensure we are at the forefront of personalisation.
You will communicate with Senior Designers to understand and deliver to the brand’s product development strategy and support the team to ensure projects/products are delivered on time and in-line with company schedule. You will support the creative development and brand styling, managing your own projects from start to finish.
This is a hybrid role, meaning you will be required to work from our Head office based in Banbury, Oxfordshire two to three days a week on average, with the freedom to be able to work from home for the rest of the week. Working in the office requirements may flex up from time to time dependent on business needs.

**HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE**
- Executing briefs from Senior Designers to design on brand, innovative products/concepts that are visually attractive suggesting creative/innovative solutions
- Proactively take ownership of projects and support seniors in helping deliver products from concept to delivery by:
- Providing support for senior designers in development and delivery of technical specifications
- Working closely with senior designers to ensure end-to-end delivery of products including packaging, tags, care labels, Point Of Sale display, testing
- Checking own work and that of junior team members', ensuring attention to detail is met and tasks are well organised
- Monitoring and managing the checking of all samples against specs with senior designers
- Helping to mentor and grow junior designers to deliver a first-time right spec sheet and sample
- Suggesting ways to improve individual processes and/or going above and beyond to proactively manage these ideas
- Using your knowledge of all adobe programs to create artwork and technical specifications
- Maintain an awareness of competitors and regularly communicate with seniors this knowledge
- Be an example of design standards to junior designers, suggesting ways to improve individual processes and/or going above and beyond to proactively manage these ideas
- Daily/weekly reports to senior designer outlining current statuses and detailing progress of all live projects
- Work closely with junior members of the Design team to manage and maintain critical paths ensuring accuracy with sample/product codes, product descriptions, colour descriptions
- Be confident in maintaining direct relationship with senior designers and be a support design/buying teams where needed on projects that need knowledge from a product point of view
**THE TALENT YOU'LL BRING**
- A Design qualification, preferably in fashion or product design, with a passion and enthusiasm related to fashion and lifestyle products
- Experience in product design, preferably within fashion and accessories brand, with proven ability to deliver designs from creative concept to final product
- A proven track record of working to processes to effectively deliver high-quality products within deadlines
- Strong visual communication skills as well as high proficiency in Creative suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to demonstrate a great level of accuracy in both written correspondence and numeracy
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work to tight deadlines in high-pressure projects
- A high degree of confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to work pro-actively within a team, coupled with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously
- A positive, can-do attitude and excellent team working skills
- Experience working independently under general instructions on product design projects
**PERFECTLY PACKAGED**
- A salary of £24,000 - £28,000 DOE
- 25 days holiday rising to 27 with length of service, plus all bank holidays
