We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work with a school that caters for pupils aged 16-25 diagnosed with special educational needs such as Autism, Downs Syndrome and Profound and Multiple difficulties.

The school’s focus is to provide their pupils with the necessary skills to live a full and independent life. These skills include time management, budgeting, functional skills and employability. This is achieved inside a brand-new campus. The new facilitiesconsist of five new classrooms, a large hall space, personal care facilities, a kitchen area and a large outdoor area for horticulture

If you believe you are the perfect Teaching Assistant, you should:

- Have experience of working with SEN
- Be a calm and patient personality
- Be committed to making a difference

Your role within this school as a Teaching Assistant would be to assist the pupils as they develop their independence. This would involve supporting them within the classroom as they complete their tasks, but may also take place outside the classroom, suchas at mealtimes. Additionally, the school often have trips into the community where you would be able to see the results of your work firsthand.

The school is located in Oldham area and is easily accessible by bus, tram and car.

In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
