**The Role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and self-motivated engineer to join our Routine Highway Maintenance Team at Warwickshire County Council.

The team oversees and delivers in partnership with our term maintenance contractor all reactive, cyclical, and planned highway maintenance works.

Your role will be to design, and project manage a range of highway maintenance activities such as drainage investigation/schemes, jetting programmes, small scale works, carriageway & footway patching and cyclical programmes. You will manage the delivery within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. Identifying site technical problems and recommending solutions will also be part of your work.

There will also be a requirement to be on emergency call and winter maintenance supervision, both will be on a weekly rota to cover out-of-hours works. Stand-by payments and overtime will be paid to cover such activities.

You should have experience in implementing civil engineering highway works, including inspecting, recording and reporting on construction projects, you are used to assessing temporary traffic management solutions.

**Key Requirements**

To be successful you’ll need good communication skills both verbal and written, planning and organising and IT skills.

Knowledge of current design and construction standard and specifications and have a strong health & safety awareness.

The role requires the ability to travel across Warwickshire.
