Project Manager - General Description
Reporting to the Directors.
This role has wide range of tasks involved in delivering bespoke mechanical engineering solutions to clients both existing and new facilities. The role will be site-based works in the Slough area.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource management of site labour/engineers, materials, and subcontractors
- To manage and monitor engineers on site to ensure professional standards are maintained.
- Liaising with clients and sub-contractors from tender through to completion of projects
- comply and implement company policy and procedures on projects.
Ensure equipment and materials are available and ready for all site works to proceed as programme.
Produce programmes of work for consistent and factual records.
- Ensure all arising issues are resolved quickly and effectively or communicated to management effectively.
Project responsibilities and reporting
- Producing reports on Projects and highlight efficiencies / deficiencies as required.
- Liaise with the financial/ commercial manager to ensure best cash flow appropriate to the project.
- Manage the installation task/priorities.
- Manage the administration of Health and Safety on assigned Projects and drive compliance with best practice.
- Produce and ensure accurate records of the project are kept (e.g., updating drawings, recording tests) using the document platforms (BIM360, BIM Field, Aconex etc.)
- Conduct site surveys as required to fulfil duties.
- Assist in Project handover to the Client (or FM business) including the collation and completion of O&M details
- Manage the commissioning, testing, user training and handover of projects as required.
- Liaising with clients, main contractors, Architects, Consultants, and sub-contractors
People Management
- To work as part of the team to improve design/system knowledge of the Mechanical services.
- To assist in developing new ideas and avenues to expand the ability of the Projects division.
- Lead and manage site-based team on projects.
- Raise awareness and engagement of colleagues in techniques and systems to enhance productivity and support the long-term sustainability of the business.
