**Our client school based in Croydon are recruiting for an DT Teacher, starting ASAP.**
At Empowering learning we are recruiting for an experienced and qualified design Technology Teacher who can start ASAP or January start. You will be responsible for the planning and delivering of lessons to small groups. During your lessons you will have TeachingAssistant who will help you set up and help assist the students with the lesson, support the students during their lessons and manage any behaviour when it happens. The ideal Teacher for this role ideally needs to have had experience with Key stage 3 & 4 upto GCSE'S. worked in a Pupil Referral Unit or taught quite challenging students and have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
This Pupil Referral Unit is based in the London brough of Croydon and caters for students aged between 11-16 years, who have been removed from a mainstream school on a temporary or permanent basis. They currently have 120 students who attend. This school aimsto that education & transform.

**The role**:

- Plan, deliver and assess outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable the students to learn
- Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships with parents and carers
- Engage and motivate pupils
- Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, parents and other professionals
- Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom
- Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school
- Engage in whole school activities as required by the Headteacher
- Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities
- Ensure you uphold all safeguarding procedures, including engaging in annual safeguarding training, including induction training

**You must have**:

- Successful class teaching experience.
- Experience of working with children with SEN, Autism ADHD or SLD
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
- An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
- Degree
- QTS or QTLS
