This job is working for a very well-established and respected manufacturer that supplies to UK retailers and foodservice markets, as well as further food manufacturing.

**About the Assistant Quality Manager job**

The purpose of your role is to oversee all aspects of Quality Assurance within the Company to ensure products are safe, legal and manufactured to the highest possible quality.

**Key tasks**
- Work alongside the QSE Manager to implement, maintain and develop Food Safety and Quality systems.
- Deal with all quality, integrity, and food safety issues.
- Manage the traceability systems and carry out traceability exercises when required.
- Drive Continuous Improvement and promote a Food Safety Culture within the business.
- Oversee the Quality Team Members and ensure the department runs smoothly and
- daily tasks are completed.
- Assist with all site audits and visits and develop into the site audit lead role.
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints.
- Deal with customer enquiries and risk assessments.

**About You**
- Ideally educated to a degree level within a food science or food technology discipline.
- Strong quality assurance experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
- Excellent people skills, ideally with staff supervision experience.
- Experience working to BRC standards.
- Qualifications in Food Safety, HACCP and Food Hygiene are highly desirable.

The Assistant Quality Manager job is based in Kent and is paying £30,000 - £35,000 according to your experience.

The package includes 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, company contributory pension and Christmas shutdown of 2 weeks.

The working hours are Monday to Friday.
