Housing Officer

We’re looking for a Housing Officer to join our newly formed Neighbourhoods Team. You’ll manage around 450 homes making sure a high level of customer service is delivered. Providing a holistic estate management service, including effectively managing cases of anti-social behaviour, re letting our empty properties, conducting scheme inspections, and proactively engaging with customers on a broad range of topics.
Job requirements
Provide opportunities for residents to engage with us and influence the way we manage their homes so that the voice of our customers is always heard.
Help customers to develop the skills, knowledge and commitment to use Staffs Housing’s self-service digital systems as they are introduced.
Positively represent Staffs Housing in partnership and multi-agency meetings.
Complete scheme inspections and have a good knowledge of the properties within your patch. You will make sure the communal areas, and grounds of our schemes are clean and safe.
Respond swiftly to any issues identified by our fire risk assessments.
Investigate any issues with property conditions, and support customers to maintain their homes.
Respond to any tenant private works requests and tenancy management changes.
Oversee mutual exchanges, ensuring that customers are responded to swiftly.
What we’re looking for
A relevant qualification in housing management or anti social behaviour. A CIH level three or above and a degree would be an advantage.
Demonstrable housing experience. Experience in managing a shared ownership portfolio would be desirable but not essential.
Someone who has is up to date with housing law, tenancy management, anti social behaviours, safeguarding, shared ownership and health and safety.
Have great customer service and communication skills.
Have good ICT skills to be able to use our CRM system.
Be someone who is flexible and adaptable and can think on their feet to problem solve.
Manage your own time well and prioritise effectively.
Have your own vehicle suitable for business use and an enhanced DBS check.
