**Purpose of the Role**
I am representing a client based in Redbridge, who are looking for someone to lead a team consisting of a Senior Housing Supply Officer, Allocations and Letting Officer x4, Housing Register Officer x3, Placements Officer x3, Housing Supply Assistant.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Manage the team, providing an effective and efficient service to customer in the context of current legislation and Council policy, in particular the Housing Allocations Scheme and Temporary Accommodation Placement Policy
- Manage the housing register assessment and allocations process in line with the law according to Part VI of Housing Act 1996 and Housing Allocations Scheme
- Put policies and procedures in place to provide an effective service for area of operation
- To put in place monitoring systems in response to service issues and needs which support the provision of a high quality, legally compliant service
- Be a proactive member of the Housing Needs Management Team, taking shared ownership of the challenges facing the service and using initiative to provide solutions
- Analyse performance data and provide regular management reports regarding operational performance against novalet and other relevant systems

**Requirements**:

- Good knowledge of homelessness laws covered by the 1996 Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Knowledge of the Children's Act, and the Care Act as this social care legislation interacts with housing and homelessness issues
- Good knowledge of Welfare Reform Act and associated legislation
- Comprehensive knowledge pf the housing allocations as covered by the Housing Act 1996 Part VI
- Experience of managing change in a Local Authority/similar environment
- Experience of delivering assessment and allocations services to people in need some of which must've been on a casework basis
