Come and join us as an Apprentice Fitter at Tarmac, based out of our Port Talbot site, in South Wales, where you'll get hands on experience in various tasks that will help develop your skills, qualify and allow you to progress within the business

Electricians in our business work on heavy machinery and play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing plants functioning.

You will be a vital part of the team responsible for making sure all the systems in place are efficient, that daily maintenance is at a high standard, and also coming up with new ideas to make production more efficient.

**Role Responsibility**:
Activities may include:

- General maintenance.
- Managing breakdowns on site and finding faults.
- Adding new systems on site for better productivity.
- Running mechanical tests.
- Health and safety checks which include risk assessments and fire alarm tests.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment and ensuring safety comes before anything else
- Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed

Life on site will involve working both inside and outside. It won’t always be glamorous and sometimes you might find yourself in a dusty or confined environment. However, your safety and health is our number one priority and full protective clothing and equipment is provided. Your colleagues are there to help and look out for each other, and safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:
Qualifications required:

- Preferably GCSEs A-C or numbered equivalent (9-4) in both English and Maths, however D or 3 are acceptable because the college can provide additional support
