Clinical Effectiveness Co-ordinator

This post will provide temporary cover for someone on maternity leave.
A highly skilled and numerate individual is required to join the busy Clinical Effectiveness Unit in order to support the co-ordination of clinical audit activity across the trust.
**Main duties of the job include**:
- Project management of several audits in parallel.
- Co-ordination of local and national clinical audits, with clinical teams.
- Designing and writing data collection systems.
- Numerical analysis of data.
- Report writing.
- Supporting clinical teams with writing improvement plans.
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is committed to the delivery of high quality patient care and is proactive in undertaking clinical audit to demonstrate local compliance with national clinical standards. The Clinical Effectiveness Unit within the Trust provides support to clinical teams in order to undertake such audits and provide assurance to regulatory bodies.

**Job Purpose**:
To provide specialist advice, training and specialised technical support including statistical analysis to medical, nursing and allied health professionals. To facilitate and co-ordinate clinical audit activity within the Trust directorates as allocated by the Clinical Effectiveness Manager, providing specialist advice and support with development of the Clinical Audit Forward Programmes. To facilitate and support implementation and clinical audit of NICE Guidance and National clinical audit initiatives. To work in conjunction with Care Groups, Clinical Staff and the Trust’s Patient Safety Unit to promote implementation and audit of Evidence Based Practice as part of the Clinical Effectiveness agenda.
**Key result areas**:
- To work with and support clinicians engaged in the development of directorate forward programmes, advising and facilitating project planning, design, implementation, analysis and presentation leading to improvements in patient care.
- To promote good practice by using clinical audit methodology to facilitate change across the Trust.
- To liaise effectively with clinicians on clinical audit and clinical effectiveness issues, towards ensuring that the Trust meets it’s Patient Safety and legal obligations.
- To maintain an accurate register of directorate clinical audit activity and outcomes to provide information to meet Patient Safety requirements and produce annual reports of activity to meet local and National requirements. e.g. Care Quality Commission inspections and Department of Health Quality Accounts Reports.
- To work with and support the Clinical Effectiveness Manager on strategic Clinical Effectiveness activities, deputising at organisational meetings as required.
- To supervise staff involved in data collection across both sites - this will involve regular journeys between hospital sites.
- Contribute towards the Audit & Clinical Effectiveness Committee Annual Report and Forward Programme for each clinical directorate.
