About Edensor Care Centre
Edensor Care Centre, in Clacton-on-Sea,
Essex, is a warm and friendly home for up to
48 residents who receive dedicated person
- centred care to meet a range of nursing and
dementia-related needs.
Residents’ needs are put first and foremost
in everything we do as we strive to provide
the highest possible quality of care, where
everyone feels secure and happy.
You will be joining at an exciting time in our
development at Edensor as we introduce
the Montessori principles of aged care to
our community. The Montessori Method
for Dementia and Ageing is an innovative
approach that has already achieved very
positive outcomes across the US, Canada
and Australia - including improving quality
of life and significantly reducing the need
for medication.
Edensor is part of the Diagrama Foundation,
a charity that supports vulnerable people.
The Montessori philosophy aligns with
Diagrama’s vision of providing the
people we support with activities that
are enjoyable and meaningful to them,
that maintain and develop their skills and
independence and so promote their quality
of life. We are creating an environment at
Edensor where people with dementia are
fully supported, where their memories can
be nurtured and reignited, restoring their
dignity and independence. We strive to
ensure our residents can feel truly at home,
leading a fulfilling life, as a valued member of
our community.
Edensor is managed in sections small enough
for staff to provide a really personal service.
Every member of our team takes the time to
get to know our residents so their experience
can be individualised.
We work hard to provide exemplary end of
life care and we are currently working towards
achieving a Gold Standard in our practice.
We go the extra mile to support participation
in a wide range of interesting pursuits that
engage individuals and the wider community.
You will provide essential care and support to all
service users in a role which is pivotal to helping
our residents retain as much independence as
possible. You will be determined to find the
individual behind the dementia and other needs
to understand their interests and find specific
ways to individualise their experience during
their time at Edensor.
You will be a consistent and caring role model
who works effectively in a team, offering
support to colleagues as required.
You will always lead by example and ensure
all relevant records and reports are completed
accurately and within required timescales. You
will also:
- Build positive relationships with
residents, taking the time to identify their needs
and help them to develop and retain skills that
promote their independence

care is delivered according to latest guidelines
and best practice

supportive environment in which residents can
