This post is based at Millbrook Mental Health Unit, which is currently undergoing an exciting redevelopment. The Assistant Practitioner will work within the Inpatient Therapy team to deliver therapeutic interventions to our dementia and mental health patients.

The role requires a non-registered, Advanced Practitioner, with previous experience of working in a therapy support worker role and specialist skills, to support the continuous assessment of patient’s needs and to implement treatment plans within a multidisciplinary framework.

You must be able to work effectively under the supervision and leadership of registered professionals to provide high quality care to our aged 65+ patients. You must also have a solid understanding of the physical and mental health needs of older people and relevant therapeutic interventions.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and who can motivate others, who shows empathy and kindness, and who is willing to go the extra mile to support their patients and their colleagues. In return, we will offer:

- training and support to complete role-based competencies
- regular clinical supervision
- annual appraisal, with regular reviews to support you to achieve your goals
- bi-monthly Support Workers Forum
