We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of at the, Royal Air Force (RAF), United Kingdom.
**What will be your primary role?**
The primary purpose of this position is to preform a wide variety of simple cooking tasks that require little or no processing such as; pancakes, sausages, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables. You will prepare hot cereals, broiled meats and prepare and cook concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies; as well as make cold sandwich fillings. You will prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets. Some cooks, at this level, will be required to prepare and bake pizza. You will prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading; weigh, measure and assemble ingredients for regular menu items; set up and replenish salad bar; portion foods for distribution and meal service, and cover, date and store leftovers according to established procedures. You will mix ingredients according to written recipes that produce quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food material waste. In addition, you will wash and clean kitchen equipment.

**What are the Key Skills required for this role?**
1. Experience and knowledge of the methods and procedures relating to food presentation.
2. Knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained by experience obtained working in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity.
3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic.
4. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods and ability to season food and decide when foods are done.
5. Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.
6. Ability to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
