NHS South East London Clinical Commissioning Group is the statutory body responsible for commissioning healthcare services to south east London’s 1.9 million residents of the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
South East London CCG’s key priorities include:
- Providing more systematic and proactive management of chronic disease to improve health outcomes

- Ensuring urgent care systems maximise appropriate access of care for patients
- Improving access to services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Prescribing and Pathway Advisor to join the Medicines Optimisation Team at Greenwich. This 6 month fixed-term contract offers you a valuable experience and flexibility in working collaboratively with other stakeholders within a forming Integrated Care System.
The post holder will provide prescribing advice, and support the development of prescribing strategy for allocated practices in Greenwich. The aim is to ensure that prescribing in Greenwich is evidence-based and cost effective, and that awareness of good medicines management practice is promoted.The post holder will work closely with GP practices to increase clinically and cost-effective prescribing for patients, as well as being involved in whole system re-design and pathway implementation.
The post holder will have excellent organisational, communication and report writing skills, and sound IT skills. A good understanding of the challenges facing medicines optimisation in the new NHS and experience in primary care is essential.
South East London CCG reserves the right to close this post early if there is an overwhelming response.
