Hv Battery Management Systems Expert

You will become responsible for the on-time delivery of all HV Battery Management System (BMS) hardware and software to achieve vehicle attributes for hybrid and electric vehicles across all programmes.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to)**:
- To define, own and deliver HV BMS hardware and software from concept through to production, including achieving:
- Develop and deliver commodity strategy for HV battery pack BMS hardware and software
- Function: Lead generation and delivery of robust technical specifications and timing plans for RFQ
- Quality: Identify & contain potential quality concerns using engineering quality systems (FMEAs, Robustness Studies, 8Ds, Ishikawa)
- Testing & Development: Sign off for DVPs. Audit the coverage of requirements vs test cases. Contribute to the in-house testing activities. Support the fleet activities. Calibration and debugging of vehicle issues.
- You will become the main point of contact for HV BMS HW and SW for feasibility, functionality and active resolution of technical issues
- Acquiring and evaluating competitor benchmark information to influence concept creation in early project phases
- Coordinating system and supplier comparison studies and evaluating RFQ responses to influence management decisions
- You will establish regular design reviews with cross functional teams and support test rig planning and execution
- Cross-functional working with other R&D departments to define associated LV systems to achieve vehicle requirements
- To support relevant requests with Patents and Intellectual Property teams
- Train, coach and present technical information at all levels and share the knowledge throughout the business
- Develop and record best practices and support development of design manuals to handle the Electrified Powertrain requirements of today and the future
**Qualification & Experience (you will ideally possess)**:
The essential areas of previous experience required to undertake this role include:
- You will have previous delivery experience of HV BMS hardware and software for hybrid and/or electric vehicles
- Hands on experience of working with LV and HV electrical and electronic systems
- Knowledge of all relevant vehicle legislation and certification requirements for HV automotive battery packs
- You will have strong knowledge of project life cycle management from early R&D to series production
- Leadership of technical teams delivering product development projects to production
- Driving product development issues to a resolution
