- You will be required to attend the Plymouth office from your first day for training and then as part of your shared team role to fully meet objectives that are more efficiently done on site. We enable individual choice, where we can - within the contextof meeting customer needs. This means you are likely to have some input and choice about how and when you will work on site versus from home once you are established in your role_

We are now looking for a Budgeting, Accounting and Governance Officer to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.
You will join our award-winning Digital, Data and Technology Directorate which is the in-house IT division at the heart of the move to a digital, data-driven organisation with the ambition to provide our customers with cutting-edge digital services.
HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be securedagainst property across England and Wales.

**Key responsibilities for theBudgeting, Accounting and Governance Officer**:
As a Budgeting, Accounting and Governance Officer, you will maintain accurate monitoring and forecasting records, collating new and committed spending and adding notes to explain variances and identification of trends. You will work with the Budget Holdersto ensure effective financial accounting and control of the IT Operations Practice, IT Service Management Practice Business As Usual and Fixed Asset budgets, aiming to keep within the tolerance allowed, providing support and advice, and acting as a point ofreferral for requisitions.
Part of your role will be managing the expenditure planning exercise, this will include researching and preparing all additional information required in support of budget bids and entering the figures into the Financial Reporting and Planning tool within thedeadlines set. You will also complete year end reporting and variances, ensuring prompt clearing of in-year accounts and accurate management of accrual and will make decisions with guidance from technical experts and the Financial Accounting Team, on the correctcoding of expenditure and treatment of VAT.

**What we’re looking for in ourBudgeting, Accounting and Governance Officer**:
To meet the requirements for this role you will have strong, relevant experience of delivering financial management outcomes within a complex environment, along with practical knowledge and experience of making the best use of information from financialmanagement systems and reporting tools.
You will have proven experience of payment transaction processes, budgeting and the accurate recording and processing of financial data and be confident in working with numbers, particularly the ability to reconcile different sets of information.
