Thomas Crompton Demolition, are looking for a motivated, dynamic, experienced and skilled HGV mechanic / fitter to join our commercial vehicle workshop based in Bradford, West Yorkshire.,

Our fleet primarily consists of over 40 tippers, 5 Sweepers, 4 Grab wagons, 2 tractor units and 2 trailers. This role will give an experienced and skilled mechanic/fitter an opportunity to demonstrate an ability to work within a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines as part of a team and autonomously to ensure continuity of business and minimise downtime.

**Responsibilities of a HGV Mechanic**
- Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards.
- Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection.
- Diagnosing vehicle defects
- Good housekeeping and H&S requirements.
- Ordering of parts and taking deliveries.
- Comprehensive completion of all documentation including worksheets.
- Vehicle breakdown and roadside repairs as necessary.
- General yard duties as and when required.

**Role requirements**
- City & Guilds / NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent. (Essential, need to be presented at interview)
- Excellent knowledge of HGV vehicle and trailers. (essential)
- HGV Class 1 driving licence with DCPC & Tacho (desired)
- Ability to keep calm when under pressure
- A strong team player

- Self-motivated
- Proactive
- Able to work on own initiative
- A good communicator
- Flexible in your approach
- Accurate when producing written records.

**Hours of Work**
- 10-hour days
- 6 days a week Saturdays are essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£40,500.00 per year
