**Children’s Waking Night Carer**

**Weybridge**

£14.00 - £17.00 per hour

We are recruiting for experienced children’s Waking Night Carer to support and promote the independence and confidence of an engaging and happy 7-year-old boy. Our Client is in a wheelchair following an injury to his spine and requires assistance with mobilising,catheterisation, monitoring of skin integrity and observation for any medical deterioration.

Our Client lives at home with his family and pet dog.He attends mainstream school where he has a great support network promoting his learning and therapy implementation and his therapy programmes continue at home and form part of his daily routine.

We are offering excellent rates of pay and are keen to find people to join the team for the long term as continuity of care is very important for this Client.

**Available Hours**:
We are recruiting for the following:
Wednesday & Sunday:

20:00 - 08:00 (12 hours per shift)

**Rates of pay**:
Monday - Friday:

£16.00 per hour
- Saturday & Sunday:

- £17.00 per hour

Bank Holidays:

1.5 x usual weekday hourly rate

Optional overtime may be available as required especially in school holidays.

**Person Specification**:

- Experience of working with children in the community;
- Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable;
- Experience of working in a private family home would be beneficial but an appreciation of the sensitivity, confidentiality, respect and privacy of working within a home environment is essential;
- Knowledge and experience of medication administration;
- Willingness to attend all relevant training sessions and meetings as required and engage in regular contact with the Case Manager;
- Happy to fulfil some client-related household tasks;
- Ability to offer flexibility with working times and hours to help support with periods of sickness or annual leave within the team;
- Good written and verbal communication skills and be proficient at record keeping;
- Comfortable with using basic IT skills and handling equipment to ensure the client can access the full range of resources crucial to his day-to-day life;
- You should enjoy working alongside others as part of a small team, yet also be able to self-direct tasks and activities with our client;
- An ability to follow care plans and guidance of day and night routines;
- Provide assistance with all of the Client’s care and observational requirements including personal care, continence care, dressing /undressing and care needs;
- Support all aspects of our Client’s ongoing rehabilitation as set out by the treating therapists and professionals;
- Maintain a safe environment for the Client within the home and in all community-based activities;
- Report immediately any concerns regarding the Client’s medical, physical or psychological health, and to record this appropriately;
- Full clean driving licence is desirable but not essential;
- Adhere to CQC compliance in relation to delivery of care and support;
- Observe and comply with Covid-19 guidelines and risk assessment.
