**Economic Capital Manager**
**London**

As a Barclays Economic Capital Manager, you will be a go-to person and lead-validator primarily for the economic capital models and stress testing models cross various risk types. Your role will combine qualitative and quantitative skills to correctly identify key issues of models and assign remediation actions and communicate results at different forums, working closely with senior stakeholders. **What will you be doing?**:

- Validating and lead the validation of models looking into data quality, assumptions and limitations, model design and conceptual soundness and implementation
- Building challenger models to support the validation review and challenge process for all new and existing models
- examination of data, documents and coding knowledge
- Producing and review validation reports and presentations to ensure high quality content which satisfies relevant model governance requirements
- Having your own views on which issues are material and discuss/escalate promptly impact and appropriate remediation actions in the short/medium/long term

**What we’re looking for**:

- A quantitative background, i.e. a MSc in Econometrics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research or Physics
- relevant experience in model risk management or model development
- Good knowledge/experience in at least one of the main risk types in scope and economic capital/stress testing modelling
- programming experience (preferably in Python and/or R)

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- A Ph.D. in quantitative fields, such as Mathematics, Physics, Operational Research, Econometrics, and Economic
- Good knowledge of IFRS9 and IRB models and ICAAP framework
- Solid programming experience in C++/SQL
