**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

**What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?**

To support the administrative activities necessary for the successful functioning of the New categories assessment teams. Conduct work activities as allocated by line manager and New categories evaluators as necessary to improve efficiencies in the day-to-day working of the team and free resource. To resolve problems or challenges defined by management by developing new working procedures/methods by thorough understanding of the requirements necessary and experience of methods/processes.

Role holder will be responsible for own workload management and communicating with stakeholders to achieve business milestones.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Managing the requests inbox reviewing new requests to ensure necessary information is provided. The role holder will work closely with the toxicologists to understand the requirements
- Evaluation request will be created on the bespoke IT database ready for handover to the toxicologists
- Managing the New Categories requests tracker ensuring it is accurately updated and completed in full. The role holder will work closely with the toxicologists and Project Management Office (PMO) stakeholders to achieve this
- Recognised proficiency in aspects of the evaluation processes necessary to set up the appropriate record for the type of evaluation requested and obtain the relevant information to conduct that evaluation
- Managing the update of the information in records logged in the bespoke IT database to ensure that all data is as current and accurate. Perform periodic validation checks on New Categories records to confirm data accuracy and cross checking with information with outcomes sent
- Management and ownership of the CPS process for legal ingredient reporting in EU markets, and responsible for ensuring information is updated and accurate
- Leading and managing all correspondence and queries from PMO to ensure all necessary information is provided in a timely manner for input to weekly progress updates and monthly resource meetings.
- Managing any required projects and initiatives in Consumer Product Safety with respect to streamlining processes
- Input into specific toxicological evaluations as directed and guided by toxicology team members, collating specific scientific information relevant to product categories/ingredients
- Work conducted using principles of ‘Best Practice’ to ensure that all material evaluations are conducted in a robust manner with clear auditability and adherence to records management policies.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Positive ‘can do’ and keen problem-solving attitude. Proven attention to detail and accuracy in work to enable driving efficiencies for the New Categories team and across the department
- Proficient computing skills to facilitate use of in-house database and skilled user of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Good communication, organisational, and planning skills, and ability work both as a team member and independently
- Demonstrable a positive attitude along with a drive to succeed and flexibility in adapting to new tasks and changing priorities
- Understanding of Product Stewardship processes and the IT platforms that support those business processes
