Wheelchair Service Workshop Supervisor

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Dorset Wheelchair Service team as a Workshop Supervisor.
The Dorset Wheelchair Service is based at the Acorn Building at St Leonards Hospital and supports the wheelchair and specialist seating needs of around 11,000 Adults and Paediatric Service users in Dorset.
The Service provides manual, powered wheelchairs and buggies to clients with a Physical Disability throughout Dorset. The post of Workshop Supervisor would give you the opportunity to be part of this important process which enables many clients to retain as much of their independence as possible e.g. accessing school, work, leisure activities with greater ease.
The successful applicant will manage a small team of warehouse staff which include stores and community-based technicians that work alongside a multidisciplinary team of Clinicians, Technicians and Administrative staff.
Experience of working with wheelchairs, medical devices is desirable but not essential. The post requires technical expertise on electro-mechanical systems and the ability to coordinate multiple activities, supervise a team of technicians and provide support and advice to multidisciplinary teams as well as service users, carers and their families.
The department is a busy and challenging place to work but you will be supported by a friendly team.
DBS
Employment in this post requires a Standard/Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £23/£40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
