Lancaster, United Kingdom Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are excited to offer a 4 month fixed-term vacancy at the ORCHARD mental health unit in Lancaster for an Assistant Psychologist. The post holder will be an integral and valued team member with the support of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and other multidisciplinary colleagues, including Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists and support workers. You will receive weekly clinical supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.

The post holder will gain experience in developing psychological formulations, co-running training, delivering 1:1 and group interventions, and engaging in indirect work within the MDT, with family members, carers and external agencies.

An interest in working with individuals with a range of presentations across the lifespan will be essential, and this post aims to foster skills in working within a multidisciplinary framework. The post will also sit as part of a team of psychological practitioners working within The Bay area (Lancaster and Morecambe and South Cumbria), and the successful applicant will be welcomed as part of a service which will encourage the development of specific interests and will value further career development.

Lancaster & Morecambe are varied and interesting places to work - offering city, coast and countryside, and the teams have close links to both centres, as well as Lancaster University and the clinical psychology course there.
