The post holder will work as part of a team that provides mental health assessment and treatment for service users experiencing a mental health crisis that requires an in-patient setting. The focus being on joint working and collaboration, with community mental health services

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join the Carn y Cefn acute mental health unit team. The unit provides assessment, treatment, and stabilisation for patients presenting with mental health problems.

Carn y Cefn is an 11-bed acute mental health unit serving the Blaenau Gwent Borough for patients from the age of 18 years to 65 years.

The unit works closely with the North Gwent Home Treatment Team who gate keep admissions and facilitate the early discharge of patients back to the community. The unit also works closely with the Blaenau Gwent Community Mental Health Team and associated services within ABUHB and within the catchment area. Carn y Cefn provides an ideal setting for staff to gain mental health experience in an acute inpatient setting.

The successful applicant must be an excellent team player, as you will be joining a team that is passionate about achieving excellence in care delivery, for this challenging and rewarding patient group.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
