This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.
We have an exciting opportunity for 0.6FTE(22.5 hours 3 days) a Band 6 OT, Speech Therapist or Specialist Nurse (working with Learning Disability/Challenging Behaviour or Autism/ADHD) to work with men in a forensic setting.
The post is based at HMP Lowdham Grange in Nottinghamshire. It is a job share working alongside a 0.2FTE Neurodiversity Practitioner ( RMNLD).
You will join a highly motivated and skilled team who provide integrated healthcare (physical healthcare, mental health and substance misuse services) to approximately 900 men in the prison.
This exciting post has been created for you to work as part of a wider team of 8 neurodevelopmental disorder practitioners (one practitioner working in each of our prisons), a Specialist clinician (OT) and Clinical Lead (Speech and Language Therapist) providing assessment, treatment and support to men with Autism, ADHD and Intellectual/Learning Disability in prison.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about ensuring high quality equitable healthcare for people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions.
You deliver against a pathway designed to identify the needs of people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions, specifically, Autism, ADHD and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within your designated prison establishment.
You will directly provide screening, assessment and diagnosis, and support others to offer adapted psychosocial interventions for people whose communication, thinking style and coping strategies are impacted upon by the presence of a Neurodevelopmental Condition.
You will hold a caseload of people who are identified to have needs associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and require reasonable adjustments to be made to their healthcare.
You will provide psychoeducation, individual and group work and ensure continuity of care for men on release or transfer from your prison.
You will advocate for people with neurodevelopmental disorders within the prison system and promote best practice and the safety and wellbeing of patients with Neurodevelopmental Condition.

The Offender Health Directorate is one of the largest and most successful providers of prison healthcare in the UK. The Directorate provide physical, mental health and substance misuse healthcare services in prisons across the East Midlands, Lincolnshire & Leicestershire.
You will be supported by a clinical lead offering regular supervision and will work with colleagues in other prisons.
You will be working with the clinical lead to develop this new service, establishing care pathways and developing resources. You and the team will focus on equity and continuity of care for people with neurodevelopmental conditions.
You will be supported by your clinical lead to improve the outcomes of people with neurodiverse needs in HMP Lowdham Grange.
The Directorate provides healthcare to 9 Prisons and one Immigration Removal Centre in the counties of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
