THEIS is an early intervention in psychosis service for young adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis. THEIS offers a range of psycho-social interventions working in collaboration with service users, carers and other relevant agencies.

THEIS helps service users to regain confidence, maximise quality of life and avoid relapse by offering support and counselling during the critical three-year period following the first episode.

Goals are agreed to meet service users’ individual needs including education, employment, independent housing, social participation, physical health and finances. Support is offered in individual and group contexts and in collaboration with other services as appropriate.

**Job Purpose**:
To provide appropriate recovery-orientated practical and emotional support to an allocated number of service users, including service users from Black, Asian & minority ethnic communities, as identified on a CPA care plan and under the supervision of a Care Coordinator.

To support service users to live ordinary lives through providing time and support and thereby promoting their recovery.

To work according to the principles of person-centered care, recognising service users’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice and respecting service users’ values, beliefs and customs.

To support the development & implementation of service user & carer groups, including groups that promote social inclusion.

One to one support work sessions to aid recovery goals

Development of weekly groups

Promotion of group activities, projects & social inclusion projects

Participation in MDT meetings

Accompanying service users to appointments

Signposting to specialist services, such as DWP, Praxis, Housing.

Providing feedback within medical reviews, sharing positive recovery stories

Participation in team sub committees & quality improvement projects
