As a care assistant, your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Helping with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Providing daily living support by assisting with tasks like eating, drinking, and mobility.
- Observing and reporting any changes in the individual's health or well-being.
- Offering emotional support, companionship, empathy, and reassurance.
- Assisting with light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
- Identifying and minimizing potential risks to ensure the safety of the individual.
- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Upholding the individual's dignity and privacy at all times.
- Being prepared to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Engaging in continuous learning and development to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.

Requirements Skills and Experience:

- Previous experience is not necessary but healthcare or social care experience will have an added advantage.
- People from nursing home, hospital, community support or care home backgrounds are a good fit for these roles.
- Having a NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or training to Care Certificate standards can be beneficial.
