Reporting Team Leader
The purpose of this role is to manage a range of reporting services undertaken by the Energy Reporting Team in the Data Science department. The team delivers multiple reporting streams, covering operational and financial areas.
The team leader will oversee the production of reports, promoting consistency of service while monitoring the quality of the reports. Alongside the daily management and delivery of services, innovation of the service line to remain competitive and up-to-date is a key focus of the role. The Team Leader reports to an Operations Manager.
**Job Description**:
Main Duties
The Reporting Team Leader will report to the Reporting Manager and ensure the smooth delivery of the bureau reporting and WAVE service lines to clients.
- Lead on the day-to-day running of the team, ensuring smooth delivery and high standards of reporting deliverables.
- Liaise with clients and attend client-facing meetings where required.
- Produce internal KPI reporting to monitor process improvements, deliverables & project status.
- Ensure that processes are up to date, stored centrally, and followed for report generation and database management.
- Conduct weekly calls with the team, identify areas where additional support is required, and take ownership accordingly.
- Resolve complex queries and escalations.
- Ensure consistency of reports - all company-branded, with clear summaries, suitable for their audience.
- Monitor and proactively flag issues with processes that flow between data science teams.
- Manage the routine audit of reports before delivery to the customer.
- Identification of system/process enhancements to improve quality and efficiency of reporting.
- Schedule teams workload to ensure client KPI measures are met and workflow is achievable.
- Manage supplier and third-party relationships where applicable.
- Manage HR and administrative duties for the team.
- To provide MI Reporting to the Operation Manager and the wider department.
- Identify training needs for analysts and the whole team.
- Any other duties which reasonably fall within the scope of this role
**Qualifications**:
- Excellent line management skills.
- Excellent IT skills; Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must feel confident gathering information to decide a suitable resolution, and also be comfortable to ask for guidance when needed.
- Preferable to have a background in auditing, energy management, or finance.
Additional Information
- Strong understanding of Utilities, Energy Reporting and Energy Management preferred.
- Evidence of effective leadership/management of a team
- Strong analytical and statistical probing
- Able to demonstrate very strong interpersonal skills
- Focus on customer care and experience
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent presentation skills, able to communicate complex ideas at a variety of operational levels.
- Organized & accurate
- Experience in dealing with customers & suppliers
- Able to demonstrate self-reliance and ability to manage own time and priorities
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to communicate complex technical problems in simple language
- Technical experience in coding, PowerBI, or similar is desirable
