Delivery Driver

**Delivery Driver - Full time - Permanent - National Travel - £12 per hour - 40 hours per week**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Transport stone worktops from Middlesbrough to various subcontractors and customer locations throughout the UK.
- Ensure that products are delivered safely, securely, and in line with scheduled delivery times.
- Adhere to planned routes and delivery schedules, utilizing GPS and other navigation tools to optimize travel efficiency.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures related to the transportation and handling of heavy stone worktops.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure safe operation, reporting any maintenance issues or damage to the logistics manager.
- Use proper lifting techniques and equipment (e.g., trolleys, straps) to load and unload stone worktops, preventing injuries and damage.
- Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times and ensure it is in good condition.
- Operate delivery vehicles in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner, adhering to UK traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the vehicle’s maximum load capacity, weight restrictions, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Monitor fuel levels, tire pressure, fluid levels, and other vehicle parameters to prevent breakdowns during transit.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, inside and out, at all times.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with subcontractors and customers.
- Communicate courteously with customers to ensure they are satisfied with the delivery and assist with any questions or concerns.
- Collect customer signatures, ensure the accurate completion of delivery paperwork, and report any issues promptly.
- Verify that the correct worktops and quantities are loaded and delivered, cross-checking against delivery notes and orders.
- Complete delivery logs, timesheets, and any required documentation accurately and submit them promptly.
- Report any product damage or discrepancies immediately to the logistics manager.
- Follow company procedures for loading, unloading, securing, and transporting heavy and delicate stone worktops.
- Comply with all relevant company policies, including but not limited to health and safety, vehicle usage, and conduct while representing the company.
- Participate in mandatory training sessions and refreshers related to health and safety, safe driving practices, and manual handling.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably handling heavy or fragile goods.
- Knowledge of UK road networks and familiarity with driving long distances.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations related to manual handling, lifting techniques, and PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for handling paperwork and delivery documentation.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in transporting stone, marble, granite, or other heavy/fragile materials.
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
- First Aid certification or other relevant safety training.
