West Midlands Project Officer

Coventry, United Kingdom Coventry City Council Full time

About the team we are recruiting to
The West Midlands Commissioning Hub is funded by the fourteen West Midlands local authorities and Children’s Trusts. The team is based in Coventry in the prestigious new Friargate offices, but as these are regional roles, there is scope to be flexible around working arrangements.

What is the job role?
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a part time West Midlands Project Officer to join the WM Commissioning Hub team. Working alongside the WM Commissioning Hub Manager, Commissioner and Analyst, you will play a key role in the regional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) agenda.

This role involves working with regional partners in education and social care across the 14 WM local authorities and children’s trusts, with a focus on quality monitoring and securing a fair price for SEND and residential placements.

This role is 18.5 hours per week.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?
You will have knowledge of commissioning across education and social care, with project management skills and experience. This will involve contract management principles alongside an ability to communicate and work effectively with a range of partners to achieve common goals.

You will have analytical and problem-solving skills, underpinned by the ability to utilise complex information, to inform the monitoring and commissioning of SEND and children in care services across the West Midlands.

Interview dates: 3rd or 4th October
