Full Time Support Worker

Our Client is living in his own purposely adapted accommodation in the Accrington area, with a team of Support Workers providing support 24 hours a day care including sleeping nights.
You will hold a full and valid driving licence to enable the client to access community interests such as quiz nights, social activities, medical appointments, gym etc. Full and valid driving license is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills will be required in order to help motivate the client and to encourage to engage in rehabilitation.
Motivated and enthusiastic people are required, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for an individual with an acquired brain injury. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills while delivering care to an individual in their own home.
Undertaking a range of duties to support the Client, you will work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of support
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, however full training will be given to those with the right approach and attitude.
The post requires that you work independently to a very great extent. The post therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer. Reliability, integrity and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.
**Shift patterns**:
Early: 8am to 6pm
Late: 6pm to 8am
There is a requirement for the applicant to be flexible to cover a range of shifts from Monday to Sunday.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- To establish and maintain a trusting, therapeutic, working relationship with client, family & Case Manager.
- To support the client in line with the Care Plan guidelines.
- To promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
- To promote effective communication with all parties.
- To contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse.
- To liaise with other agencies when required.
- To complete and maintain accurate daily records as advised including; time sheets, daily records, care plan summary and critical incidents, petty cash, financial records etc.
- To attend supervision, team meetings and other meetings with the employer and other persons as nominated by the employer.
- To attend training sessions as arranged.
- To facilitate and support the client at therapy sessions.
- To support the client to engage in activities, hobbies & interests within the home and in the community.
- To provide transport.
**To assist the Client with**
- Shopping
- Road Safety
- Assisting client with budgeting
- Therapeutic Engagement - To carry out therapy practice sessions as advised & guided by treating professionals
- Ability to maintain safety
- To escort the client to personal development services/pubs/clubs/meals out/ shopping trip
- Cleaning - including cleaning of the home & equipment
- Ability to Maintain Safety including within the home environment and the wider community
- Any other reasonable task or intervention that is required of you to ensure all aspects of the client’s health and social care needs are met.
**Enhanced DBS with barred checklist is required.**
