Energy Consultant

Cornwall Insight is a leader in research, analysis, consulting, and training in the energy markets, and we are seeking an experienced Energy Consultant to join our GB consultancy team with experience in the GB energy market.

**The position**:

You will lead and support consultancy projects, develop analysis and convey insights to enhance clients’ decision-making to operate at the sector’s forefront. You will also identify new opportunities to create and implement consulting propositions.

**The location**:

We have offices in Norwich and London with the flexibility of home working if preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- The role will involve working with a range of stakeholders in the energy sector, including generators, suppliers, electric vehicle operators, large end users, and regulatory bodies. You will be supporting them on their net zero journeys through delivery of high quality insight on commercial, regulatory and policy issues in the sector. Experience in the GB energy market will be essential for the role, with direct experience in consulting and/or experience in the e-mobility sector desirable.
- This position involves working to tight timescales and multi-tasking to ensure all project contributions are to a high-quality standard. The work is diverse and allows you to be at the forefront of change in the energy sector.

**Example of projects include**:

- Innovative business models: supporting innovators in bringing forward innovative business models within the existing regulatory framework.
- Commercial support: advising our clients on new market entry, growth opportunities and commercial models.
- Regulatory change: advising our clients on new and changing regulation that may impact on their business and developing proactive solutions.
- Energy policy: analysing the likely impact of different regulations and financial incentives on future investment.
- Research: analyse companies, trends, sectors, and industries.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Educated to degree level - with a desire to use specialist expertise and knowledge to inform commercial, policy and regulatory developments.
- 4 years of experience in the GB energy market, ideally (but not necessarily) either in a consulting focused role or in e-mobility
- Excellent written English and Microsoft Package experience.
- Ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, working on several projects at any given time.
- Ability to understand and assimilate sales strategies and client propositions.
- Proactive and highly motivated to meet customer requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisation skills.
