**Job Title: Maintenance Operative**

**Location: The Lawns Care Home, Lawn Lane, Springfield, Chelmsford CM1 7JB**

**Salary: £12.25 - £15.31 per hour dependent on experience**

**Contract - Permanent, Full Time. 37.5 hours per week**

**Shifts: 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri with occasional weekends required.**

As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll ensure the care home remains functional at all times and our residents have a safe and comfortable environment. **Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role**:

- A good understanding of building services including, heating, hot and cold water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
- A good understanding of building fabric and its maintenance.
- Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
- Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance.
- A full driving licence and willing to support neighbouring Bupa care homes.
- A minimum of 3 years hand on experience in property maintenance and general repairs, or building/electrical/plumbing qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc) or
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Computer literate.
- Good Customer service skills.
- Be flexible to meet changing demands within the care home.
- Practical ability and experience in painting and decorating.
