**Job Purpose**

Writing of finished product specification across numerous customer / retailer portals and systems. The upload, review, approval and writing of finished products specification, artwork and all relevant food safety and compliant documents. Close link with the NPD team on site to ensure that all product specifications are prepared, and artwork generation is completed in line with customer code of practise. As part of the technical team, you will be responsible for driving the culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout all aspect of the role.

**Responsibilities**
- Create specifications for retailers, and branded products and ensure all data is correct and accurate
- Ensure all necessary and accurate legislative information is incorporated into the specifications, ensure compliance to retailer policies for retailer own label products and internal polices for branded products
- Ensure all necessary information is presented in a pack copy format to enable the generation of a product label which meets with all relevant legislation and customer COP’s e.g., M&S, Tesco, Co-op
- Understand, maintain and develop knowledge of retailer systems and requirements to enable maintenance of customer specifications on their chosen systems
- Understanding of raw material specifications and approval to enable the extraction of all relevant information from raw material specifications.
- Liaise with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain, Process, and NPD to ensure products are compliant and the correct data is used to complete customer and branded specifications and the generation of pack copies. Ensure all timelines are met in line with the customer and site critical paths to meet deadlines for launch.
- Checking of artwork to ensure that it is compliant, correct and reflective of the specification
- Dealing with enquiries relating to the products managed including allergen, ingredient and nutritional information, horizon scanning and legislation requirements
- Answering enquiries and provide technical information for ingredient specifications including allergen, country of origin, shelf life, and nutritional information, etc.
- Provision of reports and completion of questionnaires and databases when required

**Key Skills, Experience and Knowledge**
- Ideally a Food Science/Technology Degree / Qualification
- Previous experience of preparing retailer specifications, pack copies and artwork generation
- The ability to manage and input data accurately and efficiently
- Experience of Retailer Specification Portals
- Knowledge of finished product requirements and specifications
- Working knowledge of related food legislation and retail COP’s
- Strong understanding of the Food Labelling Regulations
- Capable of checking artwork
- Good attention to detail

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
