The National Trust protects and cares for places so people and nature can thrive. Our Communications & Marketing directorate plays a key role in telling remarkable stories and promoting the mission of Europe’s largest conservation charity. We’re looking for a talented Copywriter to join our in-house creative team on a six-month, fixed-term contract.

You’ll work closely with our planners, designers and wider marketing team to create work that’s original, clear and compelling.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing:Reporting into the team’s Copy Lead, you’ll work on a wide variety of jobs within the National Trust, from fundraising projects to brand campaigns, direct mail, experiential activations, e-newsletters, webpages, online ads and much more. There’s a huge variety of briefs and challenges, and no shortage of opportunities to develop yourself and make your mark.

You’ll use your curiosity, creative flair and pragmatism. You’ll be a writer who is equally adept at devising powerful ideas as you are crafting language that expresses our tone of voice.

For this position we’re looking for someone who is:

- Fearlessly creative and equally comfortable proofreading, reviewing and editing
- In possession of an excellent portfolio showcasing a wide range of previous work
- Adept at working collaboratively with other creatives
- A great communicator, in person as well as in writing
- Aware of marketing trends and best practices
- Committed to working for a charity, and all the values that go hand-in-hand with it
- Experienced in working within an agency or in-house creative environment
