Housing & Finance Assistant

Reporting to the Centre Director and working closely with the Finance Coordinator. The Housing Assistant will be a key part of the Centre team and play a role in the wider London team. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a friendly disposition, the ability to relate to students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds, a willingness to engage with all aspects of the student experience and flexibility in order to manage a varied workload.

RESPONSIBILITIESUndertake the housing procurement process for students studying at CIEE London.Source housing, prepare budget estimates and prepare housing proposals for senior managementWork with our partners in the U.S. and Europe in completing timely housing requests. Review contract terms and conditions, and flag issues.Support the housing assignment process, including, where appropriate, coordinating with the Student Life teams elsewhere.To be primary contact for student housing concerns/complaints and coordination of the resolution of these working with CIEE staff and housing provider as necessary.Report/escalate student issues related to housing issues to the Student Life Team. All reports will be compiled using Salesforce.Assists with the development and implementation of the housing assignment policies and the student conduct policies.Maintains and develops the student-facing and other information provided about housing as well as managing the housing database and related files.If required, respond to emergency situations. CIEE operates an emergency phone rota and it may be required a staff member responds to an incident which may take place outside of regular office hours.Working with the London Student Life team, arranges components of and participates in the London social program; including day trips and cultural events in London. Related to this, will be expected to work at some academic and/or social activities that take place in the evening or during the weekends.Provide general administrative supportProvide assistance to the Financial Coordinator throughout the academic year, processing expenses claims, managing invoicing for housing and arranging payments.Willing to engage in training opportunities offered by CIEE and attend external professional events in the industry.

CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) CIEE is a global, non-profit, non-governmental organisation that operates 60 study centres in over 40 countries worldwide. It serves over 300 U.S. College and University consortia and supports study

programs for around 6000 students annually. Established in 1947, CIEE is the world leader in international education and exchange.

Up to 500 students study with us at the London study centre all year round and this number is growing as we return to and exceed pre-pandemic student levels.

CIEE London CIEE London is situated in Russell Square in Bloomsbury. You would join a team of 15 full-time staff and report to the Centre Director.

Experience

We are seeking to appoint someone with the following competencies: Good interpersonal awareness; team working; budget management and financial acumen; excellent oral and written communication skills; well organised and with attention to detail; able to handle a large and complex caseload; customer service skills; use of initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 is expected and to have either skill and/or experience in using Excel as the role requires working with multiple, large data sets. Experience with using Microsoft Teams and Salesforce is desirable.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
